Screenwriters beta

Privacy and your script.

The short version: your script is yours, we read it only to write your report, we never train anything on it, and we delete it when you ask. The longer version follows.

The three things writers ask first
  • Is my script used to train AI? No. We don't train anything on your script, and the AI provider we use is bound by terms that don't allow it to either.
  • Who reads it? Woylie's AI readers, and the founders when conducting spot quality checks. No one else.
  • Can I have it deleted? Yes, any time, by email. We also clear scripts routinely once the beta no longer needs them.

1. What we collect

When you submit a script we collect your name, your email address, the title of your script, an optional logline, and the script file itself. We also keep the report we produce for you and, if you complete it, your beta feedback form.

The website uses no advertising trackers. We keep ordinary server logs and simple visitor counts, and we keep a record of each submission, its report and any feedback you give, so we can run the beta and improve Woylie. Those records are linked to your name and email for as long as the beta runs, and section 6 explains how long we keep them.

2. What we do with your script

We read it to produce your assessment, and for nothing else. Your script is processed by Woylie's AI readers. The founders may read it, or parts of it, when conducting spot quality checks on reports, so not every script is read by a person. Nobody outside Woylie sees it.

Your report quotes lines from your script where a note needs the evidence. Those quotes appear only in your own report.

3. What we don't do

4. AI processing

To produce your assessment, your script is sent to a third-party AI provider, currently Anthropic, over an encrypted connection and under the provider's commercial terms, which don't permit it to train on customer content. We chose the provider partly for that reason. If we change provider, we'll update this page.

5. Your rights over your work

Submitting a script grants us no rights in it beyond what's needed to produce your report. Copyright stays entirely with you. Nothing in your report, and nothing we do, affects your ownership of your script or your ability to register, sell, or option it.

6. Deletion

Email us at quoting your reference number, which is in every email we send you, and we'll delete your script and your report promptly and confirm by email. If you don't ask, we clear scripts and reports routinely once the beta no longer needs them, which we expect to be within a few months of your report. Your name and email are kept so we can send you the feedback form and news about Woylie, until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

7. Where it's stored

Your script and report are stored with a reputable cloud provider, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to the founders.

8. The beta feedback form

By joining the beta you've agreed to complete a short feedback form about your report, about ten minutes, within a week of receiving it. We'll send it with your report and remind you once. Your answers are used to improve Woylie, and we may quote anonymised feedback, never your name and never your script, when describing the beta.

9. Changes

This is a beta and these terms will develop with it. If we make a change that affects how your script is handled, we'll email everyone who has a script with us before it takes effect.

10. The beta, plainly

Woylie is in beta and is provided as it is, free of charge, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Your assessment is an opinion intended to help you revise your script. It isn't a guarantee of any outcome, and decisions about your script and your career remain yours. We work hard to make the assessment accurate, but we can't promise every note is right. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Woylie AI and W. W. Technology Pty Ltd are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, an assessment or the service. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

11. Contact
